Ashlyn Rock, recent Judges' Special Prize winner of the Gerda Lissner Lieder Song Vocal Competition, is a soprano currently based the D.C. Metro Area. Her roles include Miss Lightfoot in Fellow Travelers (Gregory Spears), Sister Constance de St. Denis in Poulenc's Dialogues des Carmélites, and Marie Celeste/Duchess Christina in Philip Glass’s Galileo Galilei with CCM Opera. She has sung with Cincinnati Opera chorus in Verdi's Aida, Cincinnati Opera, Opera Fusion: New Works projects, Wolf Trap Opera chorus in Puccini's La bohème at the Filene Center, and with Washington Concert Opera's 2024-2025 season. Ashlyn made her role debut with Bel Cantanti Opera in Maryland singing Micaëla in Bizet's Carmen. She performed as soloist in Songs from the End of the World, for soprano and orchestra by visiting composer, John Mackey. She made her Carnegie Hall debut this past April, 2025 and sang Juliette in Roméo et Juliette (Gounod) with Shakespeare Opera Theater. Ashlyn most recently sang with Wolf Trap Opera chorus in Bizet's Carmen at the Filene Center.
